EUROCAE ED-80 — Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware

ED-80

Section 07: The Big Standards Map

Definition

The EUROCAE publication of the hardware design assurance guidance document that is technically identical to RTCA DO-254. ED-80 is referenced by EASA as the acceptable means for complex airborne electronic hardware design assurance. All technical content, objectives, and guidance are identical to DO-254.

Where This Shows Up

Like ED-12C / DO-178C, the dual publication exists because DO-254 was jointly developed by RTCA and EUROCAE. ED-80 is the European designation used in EASA regulatory references.
