The Sandel Avionics SN3308 Navigation Display shall be maintained in accordance with Sandel Document No. 90106-IM, Revision G(2), dated April 3, 2001, Section 6, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, or later Federal Aviation Administration accepted revision. (Bulb replacement interval of 225 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first). Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations part 43 is considered adequate for the remainder of the installation.

Modifies aircraft to install dual Delco C-IV Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for attitude and direction reference, navigation, and auto-pilot steering. Also adds a Sperry DG-207 Directional Gyro in the Aux position and Azimuth switching capability. The VG-DG racks are replaced by the INS Navigation units in the above configuration, but the modification permits replacing the INS Navigation units with VG-DG racks to provide triple VG-DG for attitude and direction reference only. The installation is in accordance with DAS-1-WE Approved United Air Lines Drawing List No. COA 3-2023, dated March 22, 1977, or later FAA approved revisions. United Air Lines FAA Approved Flight Manual Supplement to McDonnell Douglas Flight Manual Document Number MDC-J1010 dated February 17, 1977, or later FAA approved revision is required as part of this installation.
