United Air Lines AFM Supplement to FAA Approved Flight Manual No. MDC-J1010, dated December 13, 1990, or later FAA approved revisions, is required as part of this modification.

Modifies aircraft to install dual Delco C-IV Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for attitude and direction reference, navigation, and auto-pilot steering. Also adds a Sperry DG-207 Directional Gyro in the Aux position and Azimuth switching capability. The VG-DG racks are replaced by the INS Navigation units in the above configuration, but the modification permits replacing the INS Navigation units with VG-DG racks to provide triple VG-DG for attitude and direction reference only. The installation is in accordance with DAS-1-WE Approved United Air Lines Drawing List No. COA 3-2023, dated March 22, 1977, or later FAA approved revisions. United Air Lines FAA Approved Flight Manual Supplement to McDonnell Douglas Flight Manual Document Number MDC-J1010 dated February 17, 1977, or later FAA approved revision is required as part of this installation.

Install and activate Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator and Electronic Attitude Direction Indicator at the First Officer's position. The installation consists of interconnect wiring and two Electronic Flight indicators. This modification was accomplished in accordance with United Air Lines, DAS-1-WE, Approved Master Drawing List No. 00008 dated November 12, 1996, or later FAA approved revisions.
